About Solaris

Built for decisions that require clarity.

Solaris is an independent risk and insurance advisory working with insurers, underwriting agencies and executive leaders on portfolio, strategic and emerging-risk decisions.

We connect portfolio performance, underwriting judgement, governance and external change to help leaders understand what matters, what it could mean, and where action may be needed.

Why Solaris

Understanding before action.

Insurance decisions are increasingly shaped by forces outside the portfolio — changing markets, emerging risks, regulation, customer behaviour, supply chains, technology and interconnected exposures.

Their effects are not always immediate or obvious.

Solaris was established to help leaders connect those changes to their portfolios earlier: to understand what is moving, what it touches, what assumptions may need to change and what options remain available.

Because earlier understanding creates more time. More time creates more options. And better options improve the quality of the decisions that follow.

What Makes Solaris Different?

INDEPENDENT BY DESIGN

Advice shaped by the decision, not the product.

Analysis is useful when it improves understanding, choices and action.

PRINCIPAL & FOUNDER

JENNA O’BRIEN

More than 20 years working at the intersection of underwriting judgement, portfolio performance and risk.

Jenna brings senior experience across underwriting, portfolio leadership, product governance, strategy and enterprise risk.

Her career has involved making and supporting decisions in complex insurance environments — understanding where portfolios are moving, what is driving performance, how changing conditions alter risk, and where opportunities or exposures may be developing.

That experience shapes the Solaris approach: combining insurance expertise with strategic risk thinking to help leaders see the wider picture, challenge assumptions and make better-informed decisions about what comes next.
